What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?
Lash Extensions are synthetic individual eyelashes that come in different lengths, thickness, and curl. They will give you a fuller, darker lash line without the need of mascara. They are applied to individual eyelashes, one extension at a time, for a natural, elegant look to lengthen and add fullness to the existing lashes. Self-application and application by untrained individuals is strongly discouraged. Eyelash extensions instantly give you sexier, younger and refreshed-looking eyes. You will wake up looking lusciously lashed and find that you have a lower-maintenance beauty routine, as you will no longer need to curl and apply coats of mascara. Extensions can even protect your own lashes from the damage caused by curling and mascara application.
What is the process? What about maintenance?
The application process is very relaxing – like receiving a spa service. In fact, most clients take a nap during their procedure. You lie down on a plush table and have your eyes closed the entire time. Your technician will glue one synthetic lash extension to one of your natural lashes with medical grade glue. Your initial full set will take around 90-120 minutes.
When your natural lash sheds, the extension will fall out with that lash. To maintain a full appearance, it is recommended to get a touch up every 2-3 weeks.
Though eyelash extensions are easy to maintain, the first 24 hours are crucial for a strong bond. You should keep your lashes dry and avoid touching them. After twenty-four hours, care is fairly simple: avoid oil based products and be gentle with the lashes. They are resistant to water, sweat and tears.
Your Lash Stylist will give you a detailed, easy care maintenance instruction manual following your procedure.
Be gentle with your lashes; do not pull on the extensions or rub the eyes excessively.
Do not apply waterproof mascara to extensions.
Do extensions harm my natural lashes? There has been a lot of misrepresentation about this, but the answer is no, with proper application.
Eyelash extensions cause no damage to the natural lashes. Our top priority is ensuring a thoroughly safe product .
Eyelash extensions are best applied by individuals who are already trained in areas like sanitation, safety, and health issues.
Should I make an appointment?
Yes. We recommend making an appointment before coming to avoid waiting for a long time before we can serve you. Appointments may last up to 90 minutes on average and appointments are necessary.
What should I bring?
We recommend coming to the salon without any eye make-up, mascara, eye shadow, eyeliner or false eyelashes. If you use contact lenses please bring your contact lens case. Feel free to bring headphones to rest and relax during your appointment. Most clients take a nice lash nap.
What if I have an eye irritation?
We suggest that you reschedule to get eyelash extensions if you have conjunctivitis, sty, itchiness, redness, swelling or a rash in or around your eyes.
Can I get eyelash extensions at Wink Lash Bar if I already have lashes on from another salon?
Yes. However, we will recommend a removal and a full set to start off with a fresh set of lashes. This ensures that our work is not compromised from a previous salon's unprofessional work. Stylists do not normally work on top of other salon's work.
If you have extensions applied by another salon, we require that you make a New Client ReLash appointment. This appointment is longer than our normal ReLash appointment and gives the stylist adequate time to assess the health of your natural lashes and the extensions applied. We do not require you to remove all of your extensions to be able to be lashed. However, in our years of experience, many clients that come from other lash salons have significant lash damage and need to have their extensions removed. It is our policy to use as many of your existing extensions as possible without compromising the health of your natural lashes.
What adhesive do you use?
We adhere eyelash extensions lash-by-lash with various adhesives that are made especially for eyelash extensions. We have glue for sensitive skin as well, but if you have had a reaction at a previous salon, keep in mind you will have a reaction with us as well. This reaction has to do with the bonding agent in eyelash extension adhesives.

To maintain your eyelash extensions’ length and beauty, please follow the tips below:
Can I wash my face as usual with eyelash extensions?
We recommend a lash cleanser which we do sell at Wink Lash Bar.
Please do not use oil based cleansers since oil dissolves the bonding agent and shortens the life or your eyelash extensions causing them to fall off sooner. Drying your eyelash extensions with cold air prolongs the term of the eyelash extension.
Can I use an eyelash curler or mascara with eyelash extensions?
We do not recommend using mechanical eyelash curler or mascara.
The mechanical eyelash curler will damage eyelash extensions and possibly your own eyelashes. Eyelash extensions will hold their curl so there is no need for eyelash curlers.
Oil-based or water-proof mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life or your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. If required, we recommend using a mascara made for eyelash extensions.
How do I remove my eyelash extensions?
Please make an appointment to remove your eyelash extensions professionally by one of our licensed lash stylists. Please do not try to remove eyelash extensions by yourself as it may damage your natural eyelashes. Our pro-use remover is made without thinner, acetone or polishing material. It contains collagen and hylauronic acid specifically designed to protect and keep your natural eyelashes healthy.
